Big Sunday at WPCC!

This past Sunday was a big day at Woodlands Point! It was the Sunday that we finally officially appointed elders to our church.

Way back when we first started this whole thing (come to think of it, it was 4 years ago this fall that we started talking, praying dreaming about planting a church, and look how far we've come!) one of the pieces of advice that Jason received from a friend and mentor who had been in our shoes and planted a church was to wait on appointing elders; basically, don't rush into it too soon.

Since we absolutely believe in an elder-led church, and we don't believe in Jason alone running the church and having all the power, we have had a leadership team made up of several different godly men throughout the almost 3 1/2 years of our church. They began meeting weekly, this week was the week where we appointed 3 elders to our church, Jason being one of the 3.

I told Jason afterwards that I didn't realize I was going to need kleenex! I really could not stop crying. It was simply amazing to me to see those 3 men up there, men who love the Lord, who are faithful to their wives, who are gentle and not violent, men who lead their families well, etc. Men who live out 1 Timothy 3. I was overwhelmed with God's faithfulness and goodness to us, so thankful for what He's done in the short life of our church, and thankful for these men that we trust will lead our church well. These men have become dear friends, family to us, mentors to Jason, and leaders of our church. I am thankful.

While watching Jason I couldn't stop thinking about how I am so thankful for him and for how much he loves first the Lord and then me and our girls. Every Sunday I love to see Jason do what he does, do what God has gifted him to do and what he is passionate about. He has an incredible gift of teaching God's word and shepherding people. I couldn't ask for a better husband for me to lead our family. God's blessings on our lives are innumerable. He is so good.

I look forward to many years at our church watching God's word being taught, the Holy Spirit changing hearts, and for Him to be glorified in it all. It is why we are here!

Presley is 4!

I can't believe that our sweet middle girl is already four. These days are flying by way too fast and I want to freeze time!

Presley is such a precious little thing. She is pretty much very laid back about things. She likes to wear dresses and skirts pretty much all the time. She is a priss for sure. She loves her sisters so much and loves being with them. She can sit at the craft table in our living room and color for hours. And if we are coloring with her that's even better. One of her other favorite things to do is go to the Y. I'm not sure why she loves it so much but she asks to go just about every day.

She loves all things Tangled and Ariel. She also loves candy. It's not unusual for her to sneak candy and hide in a dark closet or behind a bed and eat it. We'll find wrappers there as evidence. It's really the funniest thing. What can I say, she is my child and loves candy! She would watch Max and Ruby or Scooby Doo all day long if we let her. Come to think of it, I think a perfect day for her might be coloring with Rapunzel and Ariel and watching those cartoons while eating candy. Let's throw in a trip to the Y and a pbj and she's set!

She also loves saying the most recent Bible verse we've been working on, and it is music to my hears. She'll walk around the house saying, "I can do all things through Christ! Phillippians 4:13." It really couldn't be cuter.

The weekend of her birthday Jason's parents and siblings were in town so we got to see them and our little nephew. We celebrated with a trip to Chuy's for lunch. Nothing beats a big bowl of queso and tortillas for a perfect birthday lunch!

She loved all of her gifts! I love this picture of her.

We all went to the mall for a carousel ride.

And she had a Tangled party with her friends
and loved her Tangled cake!

Sweet birthday girl!

When it came to celebrating her birthday at school she did NOT want me to be there. She asked if I'd just leave the cupcakes in the morning and not come back for the celebration. Well, okay! Very different from Masie, that's for sure!

Presley had a fabulous 4th birthday! I love her to pieces and am so thankful for the joy she adds to our life!
