Big Sunday at WPCC!

This past Sunday was a big day at Woodlands Point! It was the Sunday that we finally officially appointed elders to our church.

Way back when we first started this whole thing (come to think of it, it was 4 years ago this fall that we started talking, praying dreaming about planting a church, and look how far we've come!) one of the pieces of advice that Jason received from a friend and mentor who had been in our shoes and planted a church was to wait on appointing elders; basically, don't rush into it too soon.

Since we absolutely believe in an elder-led church, and we don't believe in Jason alone running the church and having all the power, we have had a leadership team made up of several different godly men throughout the almost 3 1/2 years of our church. They began meeting weekly, this week was the week where we appointed 3 elders to our church, Jason being one of the 3.

I told Jason afterwards that I didn't realize I was going to need kleenex! I really could not stop crying. It was simply amazing to me to see those 3 men up there, men who love the Lord, who are faithful to their wives, who are gentle and not violent, men who lead their families well, etc. Men who live out 1 Timothy 3. I was overwhelmed with God's faithfulness and goodness to us, so thankful for what He's done in the short life of our church, and thankful for these men that we trust will lead our church well. These men have become dear friends, family to us, mentors to Jason, and leaders of our church. I am thankful.

While watching Jason I couldn't stop thinking about how I am so thankful for him and for how much he loves first the Lord and then me and our girls. Every Sunday I love to see Jason do what he does, do what God has gifted him to do and what he is passionate about. He has an incredible gift of teaching God's word and shepherding people. I couldn't ask for a better husband for me to lead our family. God's blessings on our lives are innumerable. He is so good.

I look forward to many years at our church watching God's word being taught, the Holy Spirit changing hearts, and for Him to be glorified in it all. It is why we are here!
