Kindergarten!?!

Today was Masie's first day of kindergarten.

To say she was excited would be an understatement.

This girl couldn't wait to get to school.

She was excited to sit at her own desk,

meet new friends,

eat lunch at school,

and see her new teacher.

Although she may have been more than ready,

I wasn't ready to see her go.

But I KNEW she would have a fabulous day!

And she did! She loved every second of it. I'm so thankful that I was able to hold it together until we left the classroom, and then when we got to the car I cried like a baby. I've been praying so much for this coming year for her, and I prayed so much for her today. I had a heavy heart knowing that from now on, until she leaves for college and is gone for good, she will spend so much of her days away from me! This is a big adjustment from her preschool 2 days a week, but she's ready.

The car rider line was a lot of fun. I spent 50 minutes in the car waiting to pick her up. I had so much fun trying to keep Presley awake as she was drifting off to sleep, and I was very unsuccessful at that! And add to that the air conditioning that doesn't seem to blow very cold air when you're sitting idle for so long. My back was sweaty! Thankfully Darby was nice and quiet in her car seat the whole time. I know it could have been much worse. I'm looking forward to the days when it's not 103 outside so we can walk to pick her up. Hopefully soon!

All in all it was a great day, and she's ready to do it again tomorrow!
