Oh, the fun week we had for Thanksgiving!!

Jason's parent's got the girls and took them back to their house in Dallas on the Saturday evening before Thanksgiving, and so Jason and I had from then until Wednesday to spend alone without the girls.
We had so much fun! But at the same time I missed the girls WAY too much!!! It was only 4 nights that I was gone, but my word, my heart was aching to hug and kiss and snuggle those 3 sweet little faces. They really could not be more precious to me.
While the girls were away we went on dates to movies, went out to eat too many times, and we even spent the day down in Houston shopping one day. We saw a movie and ate dinner at the place we had out very first date, the Cheesecake Factory in the Galleria. It was such a great time to be alone together, to date each other, to spend time focusing on only each other and no one else. It was definitely much needed!
Our date at Cheesecake Factory

We also spent some good time working on a project for the girls. Soon Masie and Presley will share a room... for the 3rd time. Let's hope the 3rd time's the charm!! I'm hoping it will be better this time than the last. After all, they're a year older now. We were busy painting bunk beds for them and painting the walls. They are so stinking excited to share a room this time around. I hope it's a fun place for them, a place they love to be, and also a place where they can have their own separate space to be alone.
More on that soon!!
Meanwhile, Darby will still have her own room. They're no sharing a room with her right now. She's still in her crib and still such a light sleeper. I have no doubt that she will grow to be a very deep sleeper just like her big sisters.
And the extra room... well that will be for another little girl or two that will hopefully become a part of our family. I just realized that somehow I went from talking about our week of Thanksgiving to our family's plans to adopt. I will save that for another post.
So back to Thanksgiving.
We went up there on Wednesday afternoon and I was SO very happy to see our girls. They had all grown a foot while they were away, and their hugs were sweeter than ever. Oh, how I missed them terribly!!
And of course they had just the best time ever. They always do at Mimi and Papa's house!! I am so thankful for them, that they love our kids so very much and want to take them for days at a time to allow Jason and I time alone. What a blessing to us.
So Wednesday night we went out to celebrate Liz and Aaron's birthday. Pappasita's is always a hit, especially with half price fajitas!!
Thursday was a great day filled with family and food. Aaron's family came over and we had a great time eating and laughing with them. And let's be real, I spent the morning with a trip to Walgreen's and CVS. I had to pick up some free stuff! I'm addicted! Liz tagged along, but she didn't get into it nearly as much as I did. I think she thought I was looney.
Abby and I braved Toys R Us on Thursday night with the other lunatics and stood in the cold for about 40 minutes. It really wasn't that bad. It was my first true Black Friday shopping experience, and I enjoyed it! We had many laughs at how crazy it was.
Friday was spent going to Target, the mall, Chili's for lunch, and then taking the girls to see Tangled. They definitely loved it and were so excited to see Rapunzel. I love seeing the joy on their faces with the little things. Oh, and the candy also helped for sure. Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids. Yum!
Saturday after an early lunch we were on the road again. Somehow it went way too fast, but I am so thankful for the time there. I love that family more than they could know. Jason has incredible parents and siblings, and I am so very thankful for the family I married in to. I couldn't ask for better ones!!!
So after Thanksgiving week, I am reminded that I am incredibly thankful for my husband who loves me deeply, my beautiful girls who bring me so much joy, my family and my in-laws, and most of all our amazing God who brings me hope, joy, and salvation. Thank you God for these gifts and more!
And here's a few pictures from our weekend in Dallas.
